Join us for the Southern California Wetlands Recovery Project’s 2008 Wetlands Symposium! Stakeholders from local, regional and state agencies and nonprofits along with representatives of the scientific and business communities, elected and community leaders and the general public will come together in San Diego, May 6th - 8th to learn about and to discuss advances in wetlands policy, research, and restoration.
This year’s Wetlands Symposium will explore the implications of
global climate change for wetlands restoration; preserving biodiversity in an
urbanizing landscape; techniques in wetland, stream, riparian, and steelhead
restoration; wetlands project planning and management; education and outreach
programs; and more. A variety of pre-symposium wetlands tours will also be
available. The practical and theoretical knowledge exchanged and explored
through the symposium helps support the WRP’s mission and practitioner’s efforts
to increase the pace and effectiveness of wetlands restoration and enhancement
in Southern California.
The 2008 Wetlands Symposium will be coupled with a WRP Ten-Year Anniversary
Reception celebrating a decade of work towards recovering the coastal wetlands
of Southern California through the unique and successful partnership of the WRP.
